Meem Privacy Policy

Information stored on your device

Meem saves the following only on your device, so the app can work for you:

• Your reading progress, bookmarks, notes and reading statistics
• Prayers you log, missed (qadha) prayer counts and memorization (hifz) progress
• Your personal duas, reminders and app preferences
• Your name, gender and profile photo, if you choose to add them
• Recitation audio you download

None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. We have no servers that receive your data, and the app has no accounts or sign-in.

Location

If you allow it, Meem reads your device location once to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. The coordinates are saved on your device and used only for these calculations. Your location is never sent to us or to any other service. You can enter a location manually instead, or turn off location access at any time in your phone settings.

Internet use

Meem uses the internet only to stream or download Quran recitation audio that you choose to play or download. This audio comes from public recitation servers (everyayah.com and audio.qurancdn.com). Like any website, these servers receive your device's IP address and the audio file requested, as needed to deliver it. Meem sends them no other information about you.

Backups

When you create a backup, Meem writes an encrypted file to a location you choose, such as your device storage or a cloud folder you pick. The file is protected with a passphrase that only you know. We cannot read it and never receive it.

Sharing you choose

When you share an ayah or send a diagnostics report, Meem hands it to the app you pick, such as email or a messaging app. A diagnostics report contains only the app version, settings and counts. It never includes your notes, duas, profile details or location. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it.

Notifications and permissions

Meem asks for permission to show notifications (prayer and dua reminders), to schedule them at exact times, and optionally to use your location. These permissions are used only on your device for the features described above.

What we do not do

• No advertising and no advertising identifiers
• No analytics, tracking or crash reporting services
• No selling or sharing of personal data with third parties

Children

Meem is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

All your data lives on your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling Meem. Backup files you created stay wherever you saved them until you delete them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
